Job Bank also reports a substantial number of current Class 3 / NOC 73300 opportunities in the Calgary Region. For Alberta, Class 3 is the relevant licence for a single motor vehicle with three or more axles and certain combinations permitted by provincial rules. To upgrade to a commercial licence, Alberta requires a full Class 5 licence and minimum age 18. Class 3 applicants must pass the commercial knowledge test, vision test and Class 3 road test. If the assigned vehicle uses air brakes, the applicable air-brake qualification is required.Full-time employment. Exact weekly hours, dispatch schedule and route pattern are confirmed in the written employment agreement. Alberta has special trucking employment-standard rules: where the provincial trucking exception applies, overtime is after 10 hours in a day or 50 hours in a week, whichever is greater. The exception is not universal; work confined within the same city and federally regulated interprovincial or international trucking can fall under different rules.Hours-of-service rules depend on the vehicle and carrier operation. Alberta's provincial Drivers' Hours of Service Regulation applies to qualifying commercial vehicles operated only within Alberta; current Alberta carrier training includes driving, on-duty, work-shift and off-duty limits. Interprovincial and international operations may instead be governed by federal hours-of-service rules.Work base: Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Canadian work authorization and the correct Alberta commercial driver's licence must be confirmed before driving duties begin. A Polish employment contract, delegation document or PL-CAN01 social-security certificate does not itself authorize work in Canada or replace provincial driver licensing.
