Brownfield Environmental Monitoring Technician

MaViAl Sp. z o.o. is recruiting a Brownfield Environmental Monitoring Technician for a full-time, on-site and field-based position in Schifflange, Luxembourg. The end employer is confidential during the initial application stage.

The technician will support controlled investigation and remediation work on former industrial land. Assigned duties may include soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring-well checks, field measurements, dust and air monitoring, water-level logging, dewatering observations, remediation-system inspections, GPS location records and sample-chain-of-custody documentation.

Responsibilities include following approved sampling plans, calibrating field instruments, preventing cross-contamination, using the correct containers and preservation methods, documenting site conditions and immediately escalating abnormal readings, damaged monitoring points or uncontrolled releases. The technician does not independently interpret regulatory compliance or change remediation methods.

The advertised base rate is €32.00 gross per paid hour for 40 paid hours per week. Exact daily hours, site travel, protective-equipment requirements, overtime, standby duties, allowances and compensation must be confirmed in the written offer and contract.

Applicants need a recognised qualification in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, laboratory technology or a related technical field; at least three years of relevant field experience; working English; and practical competence with sampling equipment, field meters, calibration, chain of custody and digital records. French, German or Luxembourgish is an advantage.
