Role overview

MaViAl Sp. z o.o. is recruiting an experienced Intermodal Terminal Electrical Maintenance Technician for full-time, on-site work coordinated from Via Sommacampagna 32, Quadrante Europa, 37137 Verona, Veneto, Italy.

The technician will maintain and troubleshoot assigned electrical systems on intermodal handling equipment and supporting terminal infrastructure.

Main responsibilities:

  • Inspect and maintain assigned electrical systems on rail-mounted or rubber-tyred gantry cranes and other terminal handling equipment.
  • Service low-voltage switchboards, motor-control centres, contactors, protection devices, variable-frequency drives, motors and control power supplies.
  • Check festoon cables, cable reels, junction boxes, brakes, limit switches, encoders, proximity sensors, emergency stops, interlocks and warning devices.
  • Read approved single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, terminal plans, equipment manuals and preventive-maintenance instructions.
  • Perform authorised continuity, insulation-resistance, voltage and protective-earth checks using calibrated instruments.
  • Apply permit-to-work, lockout and tagout, stored-energy, rail-area and work-at-height controls before intervention.
  • Use diagnostic displays and PLC input/output status to locate faults without making unapproved software or parameter changes.
  • Replace authorised components, restore guards and protections, and complete functional tests before returning equipment to service.
  • Coordinate equipment isolation and release with terminal operations so that cranes, vehicles and rail movements remain controlled.
  • Record inspections, readings, faults, parts, repairs, tests and open defects in the maintenance record.

Requirements:

  • At least five years of industrial electrical maintenance experience on cranes, material-handling equipment, automated logistics systems or comparable heavy machinery.
  • Technical diploma or vocational qualification in electrical engineering, electrotechnics, industrial automation or mechatronics.
  • Practical experience with switchboards, motor-control centres, drives, motors, brakes, sensors, safety circuits and industrial cabling.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, terminal plans, cable schedules, control logic and equipment manuals.
  • Competence with calibrated multimeters, insulation testers, continuity instruments and approved electrical test methods.
  • Understanding of PLC input/output diagnostics, industrial communications and drive fault codes within the assigned scope.
  • Current electrical authorisation plus work-at-height, mobile-platform and rescue training where required.
  • A driving licence valid in Italy, sufficient English and Italian for technical and safety communication, and legal eligibility to work in Italy.

The base rate is €21 gross per hour for 40 hours per week. The reporting area is Via Sommacampagna 32, Quadrante Europa, 37137 Verona. Applications are accepted only through the official OpeningsHub resume form.
