Bergamot Essential Oil Quality Control Technician

MaViAl Sp. z o.o. is recruiting an experienced Bergamot Essential Oil Quality Control Technician for full-time, on-site laboratory work in the San Gregorio industrial area of Reggio Calabria, Calabria, Italy.

Main responsibilities:

• Receive, identify and prepare bergamot and other citrus essential-oil samples while preserving batch and chain-of-custody traceability.
• Prepare standards, blanks and samples for gas-chromatography sequences and operate GC-FID or GC-MS equipment under approved methods.
• Perform physicochemical checks such as relative density, refractive index, optical rotation, appearance and other specification tests assigned by the laboratory.
• Review chromatograms and analytical results against approved product specifications, reference profiles and documented acceptance limits.
• Maintain instrument logs, calibration and verification records, reagent status, reference standards, sample-retention records and controlled worksheets.
• Document out-of-specification, atypical or invalid results and support investigations without changing or suppressing original data.

Requirements:

• At least three years of quality-control experience in an essential-oil, fragrance, food, chemical or comparable analytical laboratory.
• Technical diploma or degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, food science, biotechnology or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with gas chromatography, sample preparation, calibration checks and chromatographic data review.
• Practical knowledge of laboratory traceability, controlled methods, reference standards, data integrity and safe chemical handling.
• Sufficient English for procedures, instrument software and technical records; legal eligibility to work in Italy before employment begins.

The base rate is €22 gross per hour for 40 hours per week. The reporting area is an assigned essential-oils laboratory in the San Gregorio industrial district, 89134 Reggio Calabria. Applications are accepted only through the official OpeningsHub resume form.
